Redoing my kitchen

I have decided that when we are able to redo my kitchen, I want to have actual restaurant equipment. I want the really nice big stove that also has a grill built in among other things. The way that our kids and family just tear up everything that we bring into the house, I think that this is the only way that we are going to be able to keep any sort of sanity and working appliances until the kids are grown and out of the house.

My husband has been complaining about his feet hurting for a long time...like years! He said that he is not the only one either. A lot of the guys at his work are complaining about it too since they have to wear combat boots and walk on the hard cement all day and night. I told him he should get one of those Podiatrist Jobs. Just from the guys where he works alone he would have job security, which is more than he can say about his job right now.

I know a lot of people that live out in the country and have cell phones. They are not able to get very good signals in their house. They have to walk outside to talk on the phone. I bet they wish they had a cell signal booster to use. I don't need one at my home, as we are lucky enough to have a good signal already. But most people out here are not as lucky.

This is my favorite time of the year. I hope that this year I will be off of work so that I can have fun shopping Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I also hope that I get enough work in there where I can actually buy stuff on those days too. I am really looking forward to it this year. Okay, I will admit that I am not the most organized person in the world. But how can you misplace 2 nice jackets from last year? I had one that was too big for my oldest last year but he wore it anyway and he was going to wear it again this year. Can't find the thing! And then I had a nice camo one for my middle son last year, my youngest would be the perfect size for it this year... Can I find it? Heck no!
Guess I will be looking for 2 new jackets this week.

Camp outs

Well, since my son is now in Cub Scouts and my second son is soon to be next year, I have been thinking about all of the camp outs we are going to be going on. They have to go and participate so that they can get badges and belt loops. I am getting pretty excited about it personally.
I am really not into the tent camping though, my hips and body just won't take it. My husband's probably won't either since he can't bend very well. I am thinking about a small RV, but who had the money for the rv repairs? I might have to check into the insurance for that...

Finally got the boys all to sleep. And the kicker is they are all in their own bed, not mine! I am so happy, and my hubby will be when he gets home too.

We had an eventful afternoon, my oldest had Cub Scouts tonight so we had to walk down to where they have it and I of course had to take the other 2 smaller boys with us. It is getting cold here, well into the 40s which for us is pretty cold. But, all three of my boys love getting to go and interact with other kids.

My son was the only one of his entire Wolf Pack that was ready to check off on his 8 things for his badge that he is getting next week. I think it went to his head:)

Everything went great until they all had Capri suns and went crazy from the sugar:/

Your home office

There is so much that you have to get when you set up a new home office. Some of the stuff you just don't think about when you are new to having a home office. But there is a computer, fax machine, phone, scanner software if you need it and also any programs for your computer that you will need such as paint and such if you are going to be doing any sort of art work on your computer. Our home office is about complete, the only thing that is really missing is the customized L shaped desk that my husband wants to design once we have the disposable income to do so.

Cub scouts

So my 7 year old is just starting Cub Scouts. At this point, I am wondering where I am going to come up with the money for the uniform not to mention all of the trips that they are going to go on. I know they are going to sell popcorn to try to help with the costs, but how much popcorn do you have to sell to go camping, the zoo etc. Not to mention, when he goes to all of these, the whole family is going to go along as I want to help out and I have no place to put my younger sons. So even more expensive lol

Well, my husband is a smoker and has been one for over 20 years. He fluctuates from 1 to 2 packs a day which really becomes expensive. You figure $6 for a pack times 30 days, you get the picture right? Anyway, his work is becoming non tobacco use on October 1st, I am hoping that he will really cut back on his smoking if not quit all together. It is an expensive, nasty habit and I don't want my kids doing it or getting a disease from it either. ick.

Well, have been doing a little bit of nursing work and hopefully I will get a schedule tomorrow so that I know how much I can expect to make and I don't have to keep working PRN. I HATE WORKING PRN and also hate not knowing how much money I can count on, I do however love the daily paychecks and they are good ones as long as I have work.

I have my eyes set on some things I want to do with our house. I want to do a back patio to relax with my family. I would love to have an outdoor fireplaces to sit at when it is nice and cold out too. I think my son's would like to roast marshmallows out there on one and I would love a home made samore too:)

Well, now that I will be working once the agency gives me a call, I have asked my husband to make sure that he has upped my term life insurance that he has on me. I will be working in a correctional facility and I know that things do not usually happen too bad there, but I don't want to be caught off guard one day and then my family have to figure out what to do next financially. I think that it is something that everyone should have a pretty good amount of, just in case.

I am still tying to get my boys to clean their room. It has turned into a them against my husband and I. It is pretty sad that it comes down to spanking and putting toys in garbage bags to try to get the point across. Now when I tell you that their room is bad, I mean it is so bad, I know at least one of them is going to end up on the show hoarders one day. My oldest is the worst. Every time I try to get him to clean anything, he starts saying how tired he is even when he was just bouncing off the walls:/ Ugh lol. If I have to pick it up, it is garbage and I won't have to do it the next time.

Well, I almost have enough time to start a hobby again. I can't wait. I still have some stuff from when I was going to make candles. Little did I know how long it took to make them and that I was allergic. I want to do something small and non allergen causing like croteting or maybe order something cute from Beadaholique beads. I am not sure yet. I haven't even had the time to think through exactly what I want to do yet, but just having the option there, really makes me happy.

There are so many different insurance plans for Seniors. I used to work in a physician's office and that was when the whole Medicare part D plan came about. You can imagine the calls that we got about that. Nobody had explained to the seniors anything about their choices, or if they had, they had forgotten or it was too much for them to take in. I really wish that they would make things easier to understand and follow.

He hasn't had one in a long time, and I know how much he loves them. He really likes to play the first person shooter games and used to get them all on the day that they came out. Well, somehow I tricked my youngest two boys into going to sleep early tonight. It never happens. Usually, I will start at 9 to get them to sleep and one will be asleep at around 11, another close to midnight and the youngest at around 1 in the morning...My youngest two I had go to bed at 7pm tonight because they were not listening and had not had naps at all. The youngest is still asleep and the 5 year old is up again playing with the 7 year old. I hate not being able to concentrate because they are making so much noise.

Well, it is summer time in Florida and that means lots of mowing and cutting grass. My husband can hardly wait! He has cut the grass a couple of times so far, but he keep telling me that he wants a new trimmer. He was talking about a redmax. I don't really know much about them though, but I will have to research it a little bit more. Maybe that is what I will get him for Father's Day since that is next weekend anyway:)

Football Camp!

So my oldest son is now old enough to go to football camp. I am so excited for him. There is a football player that now plays for the NFL that is from our little one horse town and he is giving a 1 day football clinic to boys ages 7-14. My son is 7 so he is going to give it a shot. He is the brainiac of the family, he has played t ball but never football so it is going to be really interesting, but I think it will do him some good.

So my hubby works a very stressful job for the state. They have effectively given him a 3% pay cut and are probably going to but their pay even more in the very near future. We have all of our insurance through his work. We are starting to look at other places such as Wholesaleinsurance.net to see if they have comparable plans or at least affordable and acceptable plans. I hate the stress of not knowing if my husband will have a job in the near future or not, but I guess there are a lot of us out there now:/

Well, now that I have a couple of good nonphone home work eggs, I am starting to look at some small tablet computers that I can use to do them. I am trying to find something that is good for a bout $100. What I have found so far are some seven inch tablets that have android on them. I think that is a pretty good deal to be able to be outside with the kids while they swim and I can watch them and still make a few bucks:)

A friend of mine from nursing school is so artistic! She has a step daughter and she made the most awesome scrapbook for her graduation from High School. I can't wait till I actually have a little bit of time to sit down and do some artsy stuff like that too. I really enjoy things like that, and would love to have some nifty books for my sons pictures and memories. I think they are just as appropriate for boys as girls, although, I am sure women probably enjoy making them more than guys.

Well, as you probably already know, we do not have an air conditioner. This is the third year in a row we have not had one and well it pretty much sucks. We do have a very low electric bill because of it though:) Tomorrow I am going to start getting our little above ground pool ready (i.e. cleaned out). It has been unbearable the last week or so with the weather breaking records.
I can't wait to get the pool going again. Yeah!

My allergies are really kicking this year. I hate how it makes me look too. I can't wear makeup because I keep rubbing my eyes, but I need to wear it to cover up the dark circles. I really wish that I knew how to remove dark circles under eyes. I am starting to search on it. When I was in class 5 days a week, I didn't have the time to even go to the bathroom when I needed to, so now I actually can take some time to look up things that I need to find out. I can't wait till I get rid of the circles though, I will probably look 10 years younger.

My oldest son is 7. In the mornings when I drop him off at school, he usually goes and does this thing where they run laps for points and then at the end of school, they get prizes. Well, today he got a brand new very nice bike helmet. He asked if he could get one for his brother that is in Pre-K. They told him if he ran an extra lap, that he could have one for him. So, he ran an extra lap to get his brother a new bike helmet. I just thought that was sweet of him:)

So hubby is starting to think about a job change. His job is very dangerous and stressful and they are starting to cut back on some of the benefits which is the whole reason that he has the job in the first place. He has asked me what I think he should do for advertizement and I told him that printing postcards would probably be a good idea as well as having a great website presence as well. I can't wait until he makes the chance and he no longer works in the evenings.

So tomorrow my "Baby" turns 3. It is bitter sweet. I am glad that he has become the big boy that he has, but I am sad that he will not be a little baby anymore. He will also be my last.
When we had 2 little boys, it seemed as though something was still missing. It was, it was my little Sethipoo. Now our home seems VERY full:)
We have decided to wait until next weekend to celebrate his birthday, we will actually have a little bit of money then and my BFF will not be 2 days out of an abdominal surgery and will hopefully be able to make it.
I hope to be able to post some cute pics after the celebration.

Aging

So, during my nursing class, I pretty much didn't worry about how I looked or anything. It was all I could do to get out of bed and go to class, do clinical and take the tests. Now that I am done, I have the time to look in the mirror and realize that I really do need some really good anti aging products that work. I think from all of the squinting I did to read drugs and such, my crows feet have gotten pretty bad. I want to make sure that I do not look old before my time.

Sort of miss my classmates

You know, it is now Sunday and I last saw my classmates on Thursday. I already miss them:( It is hard when you have been seeing people everyday for a year more than you have seen your own family. I hope that we all stay in contact thanks to Facebook. But, I also know that we are all going to get really busy again once everyone takes their NCLEX and passes it to get a job. Although this has been one of the most grueling times in my life and I would not want to go through it again, I do see myself missing it.

Personal loans

I wish I had known about the concept of personal loans while I was still in school. We were down to our last dollar MANY times. There were times that we had to figure out how we were going to eat and my hubby was going to get to work and me be able to get to school as well. Thank goodness the kids breakfasts and lunches were already taken care of, but boy, it sure can feel traumatic when it feels like you have so many things to pay and don't have anything to use to pay them.

So my 3 little boys are outside right now. I love it when they play nice and run around and get dirty. They really have a lot of energy, and letting them go outside like this really lets them use it up so that there is not as much fighting in the house or tearing the house up as much. What has me worried right now though, is that the baby keeps coming in the house and filling a bucket up with water and going back out. Am I going to go outside to a mote?

When I met my husband, he had been taking some classes at the local community college for a degree with computers. When we met and got married he has stopped taking classes and was working to pay the bills basically. Now that I will be able to make more that what he does, i am going to try to talk him into going back to school possibly for an online it degree. Then he would be able to work at his own pace and not have to spend the money on gas to get to school since that is a great expense especially these days with $4+ a gallon gas prices.

One of the things that I did not know about nursing...was that when you graduate, you do not where a gown, but you where your uniform. When you go up on stage, they pin you with one of those little lapel pins that has some sort of medical insignia on it. Some people where pins that were there parent's. Some buy nice new ones. I won't be at my pinning, so I didn't buy one yet. I think I will in the future though just so I will have it. I do think it is a special time but I opted to go hang with the family for the day instead, which I have not been able to do since I started class so it is much needed.

Well, I have 2 days left of class! I am really getting excited about it now. The light at the end of the tunnel is here and I can actually see it and can breath a little sigh of relief. Our family has given so much for me to be able to do this. I am hoping that one day I can further my career from an LPN to an RN so that I can take advantage of some of the management jobs that are out there. They are so much higher paying and really not any harder. I am just so glad that I am finally getting somewhere!

One of the girls in my class just had a baby. I really do not know how she was able to keep up with class while she already had 2 little girls and was pregnant as well, but she did. Our class was talking about getting her some nice
personalized baby gifts for her baby shower. I think those and diapers are the best presents that you could get a new mom. Especially if she already has other kids, so she doesn't really need cute little clothes, because this is her third little girl.

Well, we have 2 TVs in our home right now. We have one in our living room and one in the kids play room. They are nice, newer flat TVS that hang on the wall and all. But I would really like to get one of those big plasma tvs for our room too. Sometimes I would just like to sit back in my nice comfy bed and watch a movie with my hubby without my kids climbing all over me. So that is now added to my list of things that I don't want to live without.

Riding!

One of the things that I remember about growing up in the woods of North Florida, was riding horses. I had one and my dad would borrow one of the neighbors and we would go riding. We never wore any protective gear back then, just like we didn't to ride bikes. I am sure that riding helmets have saved a lot of injuries though just have bike helmets. I know that when it comes time for my kids to ride, I will have their cute little noggins protected by one.

Spring Break!

Well, my kids had spring break last week and ended up having to go to daycare since I was in class and their daddy had to go to work before I got home. This week I am on Spring break, but trying to get some catching up around the house done, and the weather is not so good anyway. There is actually a tornado warning issued for about half of Florida's counties right now. I guess we will go do something as a family on Friday or Saturday.

Well, as I stated on my blog before, I am a nursing student. As long as everything goes as planed, I now have less than a month to go! I cannot wait till I graduate and actually start working and making enough money to pay all of our bills and some extra spending cash too. One of the things that I would really like to get is some Nassau Bahamas jewelry. I think it is lovely. Then, when time permits, I can wear it to the Bahamas which I plan to visit on a cruse in the not too distant future.

Well I just heard from a friend that lives up in Washington State. She says that they are talking about taking the PE program and the music program out of the schools in her district. I think that is really sad. But I think it is not quite as sad as someone else that I know in Texas that says that the school district there is not going to fun substitutes next year:/

Home owner insurance

So we have Mortgage insurance that is placed by our mortgage holder. It cost about two times what it would cost us if we didn't pay for our insurance through them. I am about to start looking around for a better deal on insurance. One site that I have heard of is www.wholesaleinsurance.net/. Definitely going to check into them. I know just from browsing around the net, that our insurance costs more and protects us less than insurance if we bought it our selves. Can't wait to get a few free seconds to really look around for some cheaper and better insurance.

Boys keep getting sick

I don't know if it is just me or what, but my kids keep trading around germs like you would not believe! It is actually starting to drive me quite insane. I have at least one a week getting sick lately. Not sure if it is because the youngest just started daycare in January, my hubby is in law enforcement or because I am doing clinicals where there are sick people. Maybe I should just decide that it is all 3! Anyway, please pray that we can last through the school year without anything more going on:)

I am so hungry right now! It is too late for lunch but too early for dinner. I really wish sometimes that I had gone to school to do chef work instead of nursing. I would really love to get paid by making people happy feeding them and also be able to make my family happier with really yummy food. Well, I just got back from getting a nice ol' root canal on one of my front teeth. Apparently I had a crack in the back of it:/ I don't know if that come from when I accidentally hit myself in the mouth with my BP cuff meter or if it was from one of my hard headed kids headbutting me. But anyway, I just had a $1,200 root canal done for all of $41 and I do not need to get a crown either! I am so happy that I caught the problem before it got worse and I am so glad that it did not cost a whole lot of money:)

I can't wait until we get our taxes back! When we do, we are going to do some work on our house to make it a little more livable. We are going to replace some interior doors so that is going to give my dear husband an excuse to get some new cutting tools. We are also putting some soft flooring into the play room for the boys and putting down some new flooring in the rest of the house. Right now, our carpets are pulled up and just waiting to be replaced with something nice and easy to clean!

I do have to say that I love my boys! But they are starting to drive me a bit crazy this weekend. We are all sick which really doesn't help because I just want to lay in bed and rest. The kids are all whiny and coughing and eating me out of house and home:) But I do have to say that I miss them when we are all in school. Cell phones

When I finally graduate later this Spring, I am wanting to get a better cell phone. Right now, I have a prepaid phone which is great since I don't have to use one much and I don't have much to spend on a monthly payment either. But, when I do graduate, I want to get an unlocked phone so that I am not tied down to a certain phone company. I want to pick the phone and then pick the company you know?

I am so excited! I just started my last semester of my LPN program. I can not wait to graduate and be able to help provide more stability to my family. Well, the countdown to my graduation is on! I can not wait until I am a REAL nurse! I graduate on April 29th and I am counting the days and even the hours until then! I am going to start a new diet after I graduate. Right now, it is just too hectic to think about it. Great New Dining Set!

I am a nut when it comes to Craigs list. My stove, my dog and now my gorgeous dinning table came from there! I live near a college town and people leave and don't take everything with them. I was reading CL and noticed that there was an Ethan Allen table with leaf and 6 chairs for $50 (yes you read that correctly). There was even 2 pictures and they said it was in great shape. They had a moving truck there and movers and did not have the room to get it on the truck! So they were bascially giving away a $3000.00 set of furniture for just $50! I could not believe it! I called them 10 minutes after they posted it and told them I wanted it and I would have my husband call his family member with a truck as soon as he came home. When he saw it he went nuts too! He went and got it and we are so happy with our purchase! We have never owned a set that was large enough for our entire family to eat at that matched! This was such a great Christmas present!

My best friend Bonnie just graduated from college and got a spiffy finance job. Growing up, I would have never expected her to go to college for anything other than the cosmetology which is what she previously went for. But I am very happy for her and her family that she was able to accomplish so much. This was with 2 little boys and some tough financial difficulties and movie across the state as well. I salute her and really am happy for her!

Well, my 7 year old got a DS Lite for Christmas (it has not arrived yet, but hopefully it will by tomorrow). My 4 year old got a Leapster 2 by Leapfrog and all 3 of the boys have been fighting over it. It is actually driving me crazy. I really wish that I had bought a second one from ToysRUs on Wednesday when they had them on sale for $25 and half price games. But, I sadly didn't. Now I am looking for a good used one so that my sanity will be saved.

I think that my 3 little boys have got to be one of the best best fat burners possible! Well, at least you would think that if you saw them running around and me running after them. But they have not been helping me in that regard apparently. I can't wait until after I finish my class though and I can really start to think about my weight more and what I am going to do to control it. Just about everyone in my class has gained weight because of the stress and the fact that they are now eating less healthy food because most of them are not working to be able to get through the program and because they need comfort food to be able to handle the class in the first place!

Well, this time of year is sort of hard after loosing my parents years ago and now my little brother that I raised is stationed in Japan now. I am just very thankful to have my husband and my 3 little boys to be with during the holidays. They make it all worthwhile:)

I have said it before and I will say it again that I can not wait till I am done with my Nursing program. I can't wait to redo our home and update it. I want some nice glass tile. I want separate showers with glass instead of the horrible shower curtains that we now have. I want stainless steel appliances. The list just goes on and on. I also can not wait to get new furniture. Even if it is just new to us, since we still have small children that like to draw on everything.

I took my 3 little boys to the Christmas parade last night. It was cold and drizzly, but we still had lots of fun and they came home with lots of candy! I took blankets for us to wrap up in since it was so cold (at least for us Floridians). I would have to say my favorite part was the high school band playing the theme from "The Grinch". They also had these really cool purple lights on their pants that made it pretty magical as well. I can't wait till next year!

I have been looking around my house and looking at how it is decorated. All I can say is it is very dated...it looks like a 1970s home just like it is. I either want to update it to the 21st Century or backdate it and use cook things like a nice clawfoot tub in the bathrooms. I would also like to knock out the wall between the two bathrooms and make it one nice big bathrooms with a bathtub and a shower that are separate. I would also like it to have a double sink instead of the tiny things that are in the bathrooms now.

Well, my 3 sons have finally agreed on the same movie! Well actually multiple television shows. They all three love to watch Scooby Doo of all things! With all of the movies that we own and have paid so much money for, they would rather watch our $10 a month Netflix subscription and watch the timeless classic! Well, I can't complain right? At least they found something that they can all agree on:)

A request for Santa

I have decided, that even though I am an adult (or at least I am supposed to be one:) I am going to ask Santa for a nice cheap netbooks. I had one and I loved it until my 2 year old pored Mountain Dew in the keyboard and fried it. It worked so well! I would just connect it right up to my wide screen monitor and my regular keyboard, but if I wanted to go somewhere, it was very mobile as well. I sure miss that thing!

My husband and I took the boys to have breakfast with Santa this morning. It was so much fun! I think that my oldest son actually liked it the most though...But they got to write their wish list for their gifts, sit on Santa's lap and get pics taken and have story time with Mrs. Clause all before eating nice pancakes, sausage and a biscuit with gravy. This is the second year that we went and we will def go again next year as well. I am really looking forward to next week when the big Christmas parade comes by. It is really starting to feel a lot like Christmas...

I am now in the process of starting more websites. I think that I am addicted to it personally...But anyway, I am checking into some good managed hosting service to help with this endeavor. I am hoping that when I become a PAID nurse, that my husband will be able to stay home and make money on the internet, and this is going to be my kick start of it. He will end up continuing it, of course, I will keep my blogs going myself as they are my babies, but he is going to have other sites to run. I can't wait, I know he is going to have fun!

Well, I took my last test for my second semester of the LPN program yesterday and I passed it! Now I just have the final and if I am still passing the class after that, then I will be moving on to the third and final semester of my program! I am super excited not just for me, but also for my family as this will help raise our quality of life. We won't be living week to week like we are now, and we will be able to pay our house off in no time at all. I am so excited!

Since I have been in nursing school, I have seen sooo many diabetics it is not funny. Diabetes if controlled and a good diet is followed and a healthy lifestyle is lived, it usually does not create too much of a health problem. But in every nursing home I have done clinicals in, the residents do not watch what they eat, they do not try to do exercises and a lot of them end up with loosing their feet and other terrible problems. There are so many things that they could do to make themselves healthier like whatch their food, exercise regularly, take their meds as ordered, check their blood sugar regularly and even take some supplements such as chromium polynicotinate. I don't know why more people don't watch their health just a little more closely

Age is nothing but a number

In my nursing class, we had to take Geriatrics. In the class, one of the things that we learned was that all people age at different rates. It doesn't matter if you are 50 or 80, age is nothing more than a number. That got me to thinking about how I really need to s tart using the best night cream! I so don't want to look older than I am and I have started to see some of those fine lines around my mouth and also some "crows feet" too, which has really horrified me. Now I see why some women actually opt for plastic surgery to try to still look young or in some cases just their age!

Not really, but I was just thinking about those stickers that people used to put on their vehicles all of the time. You know around the same time that all of the stickers with "Ain't Skeered" were hot?
Anyway, that also got me to thinking about how I had been wanting a good well working radar detector for well probably the last 15 years or so. I never have gotten one though, because back then, the prices were too high (though I know they have gone way down now). It is definitely something though that when I get my nursing license, I will get with one of my first paychecks.Especially if I am working for an agency and having to drive all over multiple counties.

I am starting to feel a little bit more in the Christmas spirit now. I have gotten a few things for my kids for Christmas and just waiting for a little bit more money to get a few more things. This year, they know that it is not going to be a really big Christmas since I am in school and not really working. But hopefully next year will really make up for it when I am working as a Nurse! One thing that I am doing though, is waiting on those great Cyber Monday deals! That is a great way to get more bang for your buck if you are really counting your pennies like I am!

Love to get away for a while! So, Thanksgiving was so warm here in Florida that the kids were playing around outside shirtless and in shorts! To me, that is not really very Turkey day weather. It didn't even feel like a holiday:( I hope that Christmas at least feels more winter like. I have been sitting here looking at some really nice Branson Missouri vacation packages. Boy it would be nice to be there for the holidays!

My son's are eating dinner right now, and complaining. They have been told that they are to clean their room when they get done, so that we can get rid of their old toys so that we will be able to find their new ones when they get them for Christmas. One of the silly things that my now 7 year old got from Cbucke E. Cheese's this past Saturday is a pack of gum that when you take out the piece of gum, it has a huge cockroach attached to it. He thinks it is so funny to try to get people to take a piece of gum! Gross!
He is also up to $48 to spend of his own money for his birthday at ToysRus. I can't wait to take him to have him pick some stuff out!

I can't wait until Friday! I am not going to try to risk going out in the cold early Friday morning, I am going to sit at home, sipping on a nice hot cut of coffee while my kids watch cartoons and shop the online Black Friday deals. I had a test on GI today in my nursing class. Up until this point, I think I was doing very good in my class, now I am not thinking I did so hot on this test. We only have one more test and then the final left, so hoping that I will be able to make up for probably having a less than stellar grade on this test!

One of the first things that we got assigned in nursing school was to watch the film "Super Size Me". All I can say is WOW! It really makes you either not want to go to a fast food restaurant, or if you do end up going, it makes you feel really bad for doing so afterward. It has also made me realize that I am living a really unhealthy lifestyle and that I need to change that for myself, my husband and for my little boys. I am going to be checking into supplements such as l-dopa to see if they are a right fit for us or not.

We were going to go to the ToysRUs in Jacksonville today, but it was actually shut down! I have never, ever heard of a ToysRUs closing down! You know the economy is bad when that happens. That was the one bad thing that happened today for my son's birthday, but we still have his birthday money and gift card set aside so that we can go to another one in the other town nearby.

Humidity!

The last two years we have not had Air conditioning during our Florida Summers. This has only now just become a problem. The humidity was killer and it also caused some mold to grow in our home. My middle son has allergies and this actually caused him to be hospitalized last month. Next summer, I am going to get a dehumidifier or four and try to battle the humidity without having to pay an extra $200+ a month to run an AC.

I just wanted to remind people that there are $5 toys at places like Dollar General. These are great for stocking stuffers or even for smaller children for their big presents. Most smaller children just want something to open on Christmas morning and then will never play with it after Christmas day! So, if you are strapped for cash, check things like that out or even the clearance isle at Walmart or CVS!

With being so tight with money this year since I am in school, I have been looking for all of the promotions that I can get my hands on! From saving money doing netflix on our PS3, to prepaid cell phones to 10% promotion at personal creations I am doing it! I am doing all that I can to try to stretch that few bucks that we are actually making at the moment. I know that it will one day pay off, and this is the way that we are able to get there!

When we take our next vacation to North Carolina, I would really like to get some nice redfeather snowshoes. I think that it would make a fashion statement as well as really be practical at the same time. I have a lot of planning to do before we go and lots of stuff to buy for a trip as well. None of us have ski bibs or heavy winter jackets since we live in Florida and it usually does not snow or get cold enough for anything heavier than a sweater or a windbreaker.

As a mom to three young boys, I am trying to teach them to clean their own room. It took me forever the last two times that I have cleaned it and I am embarrassed to say that there was over a trash bag of trash in there! But to be fare, I think that the dog is bringing trash in their room and hiding it under their bed...Anyway, I have decided that if it is too much stuff for them to pick up and put in the toy box, then they have too many toys and I will go through their room and throw away what is on the floor. I have told them this a few times today already and they do not believe me. I guess they will when they seem me coming with a big black trash bag. How do others handle this issue?

One thing that my hubby and I have decided we are going to buy this year with our tax return is a nice new mattress. The one that we have now is about 15 or 16 years old. It really needs to be replaced. It has gotten all lumpy and saggy with time. I think that we would get much better quality of sleep if we had a brand new mattress. I think it will be a worth wile investment.

Well, it does not seem like my long 3 day weekend should almost be over. I didn't get everything done that I wanted to do.I did get some more shopping done for school clothes for the boys and I did get some grocery store shopping done, but that is about it. But it was nice to be able to destress a little bit and spend time with my family. Too bad my oldest had to come home from school early on Friday though, that would probably explain why I didn't get much done. He has been running a fever every evening.

Thinking about Christmas

Now that school shopping is basically done, I have started thinking about shopping for Christmas. Our budget is going to be a little bit tighter this year since I am in school and all, but I am sure we will be able to pull it off like we manage to do every year. I remember when I was younger, I would buy my dad some nice mens ties and socks for Christmas and he was tickled pink since he had a desk job where he could wear things like that and he could also where them to church. I think my husband is a little bit harder to shop for though, maybe a good video game? LOL

It has been a lazy day in our home today. Both of my younger boys are napping and my husband slept until he had to go to work today. I just wish that my boys would sleep in on weekends and then I would be happy:) I don't know why it is that I can let them go to sleep at 7pm or midnight and they always get up at the same time which is EARLY. Maybe if I get some think curtains for their room that would help?

Great fundraiser

So, my nursing class has started trying to brain storm ideas for raising money for our graduation ceremony. One of the things that we have thought of is some nice custom tote bags. I mean it would be a good money maker as well as something that we could all use to take our books and supplies either to class, clinical and later on to work with us. I would love to have our school name, our class, and what our graduation date is printed on them. I just think this would be a fun idea.

This morning was crazy around here. I felt like I was in the middle of a Three Stooges movie or something. The 2 year old got mad at the 4 year old and hit him in the head. The 4 year old retaliated by hitting the 2 year old in the head. The 6 year old so that happen so hit the 4 year old in the head. It was just so crazy! I had to separate all three of them into different rooms to keep them from trying to hit one another. If this is happening now...what do I get to look forward to when they are teenagers?

Well, as of tomorrow, my anniversary is only 2 weeks away. I have been married a whole 10 years. In some ways it seems must like yesterday, but other ways it seems an eternity:) I am really starting to wonder what my sweetie is going to get me to celebrate the day? I am hoping a nice set of lingerie. In fact, it has been about 10 years since I have gotten a net set! I think I am way overdue for a nice set. What do you think?
